解读小升初英语系列（四） 数词

很多家长看到数词时不禁会疑惑:数词有什么可说的，不就是基数词和序数词吗？的确数词很简单，谁还不会数数啊？但是难就难在怎么用？何时用？往往我接触的很多六年级的孩子在把数词说得顺溜时，在用法上却出现的很多问题，您可以测试一下您孩子数词使用的水平。
1.What was the date yesterday?
2.What time is it ? 5:02 (five o two)
3.123098070 (one hundred twenty-three million ninety-eightthousand and seventy)
4.How much is fifteen times three? (forty-five)
5.What does the circumference equal whenthe radii of the circle is 5cm?(31.4cm)


以上均是去年小升初的真题，细心的家长会发现其实数词并不单独使用，而是和很多句型联系在一起使用，这就使得原本简单的数词复杂化了。数词更多的是在面试中遇到，如英文奥数。如何才能在短时间内提高数词使用水平，特别是英文奥数呢？其实也很简单，熟记相关单词，相关句型，举一反三就可以了。

Teacher:Here I want to ask you some questions.
        1.These question are both "Translate Chinese into English".
Is that "两层的楼房" 's English can translate into either "a two floor's building" or "two-storeyed building"? And I translate"12路公共汽车" into "Bus No. twelve".But the key is "the No. 12 Bus", I don't know that are they all the ture answers?
        2.These are all "the only one choice".
⑴Shortly after the accident, ____ police were sent to the spot to keep order.
        A.dozens of   B.dozens   C.dozen of   D.dozen
I choose "A",but the ture answer is"C".Is that there is a word "of ", so I have to choose the answer which has a "s"? I don' t know whether my thinking is right or my answer is wrong.
⑵It is not rare in ____ that people in ____ fifties are going to university for further education.
       A.90s; /   B.the 90s; /   C.90s; their   D.the 90s; their
I think that "D" is right .But the key says that "C" is the right answer. I don' t know why I should choose an answer which is .hasn' t has the word "the" in the front.
