分词作表语
跟在系动词后:The news sounds encouraging.
表状态:The blackboard is broken.(系表结构)
现在分词与进行时对比
The situation in our counry is encouraging.
The situation in our country is encouraging the people.
分词作定语
The swimming boy is my brother.
分词作定语与谓语动词的时间关系
同时发生The road joining the two villages is wide.
正在发生The man running over there is our chairman.
现在分词被动语态既表进行,又表被动The question being discussed is very important.
分词作宾补要记住几个搭配see Sb do/doing,heard Sb doing,have sth done,make oneself done等等.
分词作状语,注意主语
Heated to 100c,water will boil.
Heating to 100c,water boils.(false)
独立主格(逻辑主语)多在状语从句中
Because it is Sunday,you(主语)need not go to school.
It being Sunday,you need not go to school.(It为分词逻辑上的主语)
